Marissa Walch

Marissa Walch moved to Baltimore, Maryland in August 2011 from a small beach town in North Carolina called Wrightsville Beach (WB). Marissa went to UNCW in Wilmington, NC (right outside of WB) and graduated with a degree in Parks and Recreation Management as well as a love for fitness and the environment. She began teaching group exercise at UNCW in 2007 and gained a strong passion for health. In the summer of 2009 Marissa moved to San Clemente, CA for a marketing internship with the Surfrider Foundation where she found her love for yoga, especially hot power yoga. After returning to Wilmington for her senior year she began her 220hr Yoga Lifestyle and Teacher Training at the Wilmington Yoga Center, along with Sage Rountree's "Yoga for Athletes" training. Marissa has taught at a variety of gyms, country clubs, universities, surf/yoga camps and now overly excited to be with Charm City Yoga and their joyful community. Marissa displays a smile full of enthusiasm and speaks with a sense of passion in her classes – making the class something you begin to crave and enjoy! She was an athlete for most of her life and loves to watch the body go to work in the manner that it craves and enjoys. "No matter the weather you can always bring your own sunshine."

  • Tone Your Asana
  • Tone Your Asana...AGAIN! Join Marissa for a heated vigorous powerful and sweaty vinyasa yoga class designed to get every muscle in the body working, sweat dripping and your asana toned. Yes - you will work, you will laugh and you will have such an amazing Friday night. Bring your sweatband and possibly a sweat towel (or two) so we can take our time to heat up the body, engage the core and breath with the energy in the room to stay alive and focused through the entire practice. This practice is open to beginners, but having experience in a heated room is a good idea and the ability to enjoy some extra "non-yogic" music during practice is also recommended, music will include a good combo of dance, electronic and alternative music with lots of remixes. (ear plugs are not necessary)
