CLASS LEVELS

ONE STAR

One star classes are suitable for beginners who are looking for a slower paced, more descriptive experience. The class will help you develop body awareness, learn the basic postures (asanas) and their modifications. The emphasis on proper alignment will help you build strength slowly and safely. Learn yogic breathing and how to link breath with movement. Have fun in this informative class.

TWO STARS

Two star classes are suitable for intermediate students. The basic postures are expanded to include more difficult variations and may be described with less detail. The class will flow at a faster pace and the asanas will be held longer. The classes introduce more advanced breathing techniques and concepts in yogic philosophy including the energetic body.

THREE STARS

3 Star classes are for advanced practitioners and will focus on asana variations that require strength and flexibility. These classes are faster paced and more rigorous. They include advanced inversions, hand and arm balancing postures and deep twists and back bends.

CLASS INFO 

HOT VINYASA
This heated class will leave you feeling totally invigorated. The 60 - 90 minute program flows through postures in a specially arranged sequence of poses designed to meet your needs. The heat provides 4 main benefits: 1 - Detoxification through sweating, 2 - Safer and more effective stretching, 3 - Pain free movement in the joints, 4 - An environment similar to India, yoga’s birthplace. Hot vinyasa is CCY’s signature style. Hot vinyasa utilizes the breath and the body as a tool for awakening.


VINYASA YOGA

This style is the same as Hot vinyasa, but without the added heat.


BEGINNER SERIES
The Beginner Series is a 5-class introductory program for students who want to understand the structure of yoga. This course covers the physical, anatomical and philosophical basics of a yoga practice. The program includes one class per week and culminates with a full vinyasa practice and an introduction to the CCY sequence. An accompanying manual is available for purchase. 


BEGINNER YOGA
Everyone is welcome in this slower paced class with more description and commentary accompanying the postures. Breath awareness is also introduced in this class as well as relaxation.



ASHTANGA, MYSORE STYLE & PRIMARY SERIES

Ashtanga Yoga is a traditional method for practicing yoga. The fixed sequence developed by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and still taught in Mysore India, focuses on postures (asana), breath and dhristi (gaze) as a means for liberation. Primary series is led by the teacher and is meant to be practiced one day per week. The Mysore style daily practice uses one on one instruction in a class setting to help you master your individualized practice while enjoying community.


GENTLE YOGA

Focuses on deep relaxation, rejuvenation and healing. It promotes physical and mental fitness through poses, breathing exercises, guided imagery and meditation. For all levels and ages, especially those new to yoga or seeking a soothing practice.


HATHA YOGA

A style of yoga introducing all of the basic postures with emphasis on alignment and breath. You will leave this class refreshed and relaxed.


KUNDALINI YOGA 

Kundalini yoga philosophy is based on 7 chakras or energy points. These points are located along the spine. Each class focuses on the movements of the spine to help you open, balance and liberate stuck energies. 


PREGNANCY YOGA

Great for moms-to-be! Prepare for birth and keep your body fit and flexible at the same time. Let your worries melt away and enjoy. Postpartum moms and those trying to conceive are welcome.


RESTORATIVE YOGA

Bring recuperation to your organs, nervous system, and consciousness. Long holds soothe the mind and encourage an inward focus. A slower practice will awaken and encourage deeper openings. This class is essential for all levels!


COMMUNITY YOGA

Community yoga classes makes yoga available to all. Same value as regular classes but the cost is only $6.


EXPRESS 

Express classes are taught by the same great teachers and explore the same dynamic content in a 60-minute format. 


VIPASSANA MEDITATION

Deepen your yoga practice, reduce stress and find peace through sitting. Vipassana meditation invites students to come together in community for a seated practice. Using a simple technique accessible to everyone we cultivate mindfulness. Mindfulness allows everything to arise. In this arising we notice the vastness of who we are. This class is donation only.
